WHY WE USE MARACAS

Or SHAKERS as we normally call them ..

As one of our key pieces of equipment at Coco's Moo Music, maracas support development for every age!

For our youngest Moo’vers, maracas help babies develop both visual and auditory tracking as we move the brightly coloured shakers across their eyeline and around their heads.

As our Moo’vers get bigger their gross motor skills develop as they grab, grip and shake their maracas.

They can also explore cause and effect – when they move the maraca it makes a noise! It might seem silly to think in this way, but it’s all brand new to your baby!

When they get older still, they’ll experiment with rhythm, tempo and musicality, shaking in time to the music which is an important foundation for language development.
